Creating safer environments for people and processes

Yokogawa focuses on automating gas and liquid process control systems in various sectors. It is active in the oil and gas, chemicals, petrochemicals, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals and food industries.

These processes are controlled by cutting-edge software and hardware developed by Yokogawa. The company creates a safer environment while improving output across the world.

Energy transition opportunities

Today, sustainability is high on the agenda of every industry. Peter Roodenburg, Yokogawa’s managing director, has a clear vision on this issue and believes Europe should continue to lead the energy transition. His company has great faith in the hydrogen economy, for example, and intends to contribute to the nationwide energy transition.

He says: ”If the Dutch government proactively pursues a clear energy transition policy, the Netherlands could set an example for many other countries thanks, in part, to our knowledge and positioning. We need several energy storage and transportation options because energy produced by the likes of wind, solar and hydrogen creates limitless possibilities.”

Roodenburg explains: “I am convinced that Yokogawa can contribute to the technical aspects of the energy transition. To do this swiftly and coexist with the existing infrastructure, standardisation and coherent, stable government policies are essential.”

Utrecht Region – an ideal headquarters location

Utrecht Region is focused on healthy living in the urban environment, something which is close to Yokogawa’s corporate DNA.

“We attach great importance to a healthy climate for everyone and co-innovate with our customers and partners to achieve industry-wide net-zero emissions targets”, says Roodenburg. “I am proud to be a member of this beautiful company, working with a great team of around 500 people in the Netherlands.“

On the subject of a healthy climate, he adds: “This region offers our employees a green and accessible place to live and work. High-quality facilities ensure Amersfoort is the ideal location for our European headquarters.”
